Take a New Look at Banking
with Charter Oak
A Letter from Brian A. Orenstein, CEO
For seventy years, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has been the best kept secret in financial services. Since we began in 1939 as the Groton Shipbuilders Federal Credit Union, we have seen changes in our name and in our field of membership. On March 2, 2009, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union will experience another exciting change; one that announces to those who live or work in New London and Windham counties that they can and should be banking with us. From the new signage being raised in your town, to the updated look of our offices, we will have an image that speaks to our financial strength.
Charter Oak has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in the State of Connecticut. We continue to grow and prosper thanks to our more than 80,000 members, as well as our close to 200 knowledgeable employees who build and maintain relationships beyond banking with the people they serve.
In addition to our new look, Charter Oak will still be providing the same great service we are known for, including our low loan rates and convenient internet services. We have ten convenient branches serving the more than 80 towns in Eastern Connecticut and we're just a short drive away. We are dedicated to providing our members with relationships beyond banking because our members are our greatest asset. Plus, thanks to our great Direct Deposit special in celebration of our new look, there's no better time than now to experience the Charter Oak difference.
If you have never been part of a credit union, let us be the first. After all, if you live or work in New London or Windham counties, you should be banking with us!
