SPECIAL OLYMPICS’ ATHLETES
SHINE AT LOCAL GAMES!
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union recently sponsored the Special Olympics of Southeastern CT games at Stonington High School on May 15th. Attended by hundreds of local athletes and their families, this inspiring event featured track and field events, throwing competitions, music, food, craft activities and more!
Made possible by volunteers and athletes from throughout New London and Windham Counties, these Games are just one of many events implemented by the Special Olympics of Southeastern CT. Providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Special Olympics of SOCT provides disabled athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and to experience joy.
