GRANT SUPPORTS TECHNOLOGICAL UPGRADE
AT LOCAL NURSING HOME
$500 Grant Made by Charter Oak's Community Giving
Program
Will Help Fund Portions of Electronic Medical Records
System
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union's Community Giving Program recently awarded the Fairview Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut a $500 grant to help aid in the implementation of an electronic medical records (EMR) system at the five-star rated nursing home. The EMR system shares and receives appropriate medical information with the billing system, admitting and attending physicians, admitting and discharging hospitals, clinical laboratories, institutional pharmacies and quality assurance organizations. Most importantly, this technological upgrade reduces staff time on documentation and allows them more time to provide patient care.
Striving to make residents feel as much at home as possible, the Fairview Odd Fellows Home is the only non-profit nursing care facility in Southeastern Connecticut. Featuring a 120-bed nursing and rehabilitation center, an independent living facility comprised of 20 apartments for seniors fifty-five and older, as well as a child development center for children ranging in age from six weeks to six years, the Home provides an atmosphere where both the young and old can interact.
