Charter Oak Helps Grow The Community
Credit Union Provides Funding Needed for Groton's
Community Garden
Groton, CT-April 30, 2009-Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has
signed on to support a new Communtiy Garden located at 2 Fort Hill
Road in Groton. A member of the Groton community for over 70 years,
Charter Oak funded the project through its new Communtiy Giving
Program in order to improve the lives of those living in the town
who do not have their own land on which to grow fresh fruit and
vegetables.
Also providing a sustainable food resource for the Groton Food
Bank, the new garden will have plots available to local
organizations and residents interested in cultivating them. Charter
Oak's $800 donation will be put to good use, as the funds will be
used to purchase tools and equipment needed to prepare and maintain
the plots.

Oak's donation check at the Community Garden.
