$2,000 Grant to Help Destabilized New London Neighborhoods
Groton, CT-May 3, 2010 -Charter Oak Federal Credit Union's Community Giving Program recently awarded Habitat for Humanity of SECT with a $2,000 grant in support of the organization's efforts to buy, rehabilitate and sell foreclosed or abandoned homes in destabilized New London, CT neighborhoods.
With many parts of New London facing severe levels of home foreclosures and abandonment due to the recent economic recession, Charter Oak's Community Grant will help Habitat for Humanity of SECT to address the region's lack of affordable housing while working to re-stabilize neighborhoods throughout the city.
