Insurance Companies Partner to Provide Competitive Personal & Business Insurance to Charter Oak Members
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has announced the alliance of Charter Oak-The Insurance Professionals (TIP) and Smith Brothers Insurance (SBI) of Glastonbury. Previously owned by SCCT (a credit union service organization of Charter Oak Federal Credit Union), assets of Charter Oak-The Insurance Professionals have been purchased by SBI, an independent insurance advisor and agent boasting over 100 employees.
Continuing operation as Charter Oak-The Insurance Professionals, the two companies will work together to offer COFCU members competitive personal and business insurance and risk management products and services through Charter Oak-The Insurance Professionals. “We are proud to be affiliated with COFCU and will offer high quality advice and service at competitive pricing to COFCU’s 50,000 households and businesses”, states Joe Smith, President and CEO of Smith Brothers Insurance. Charter Oak – The Insurance Professionals will maintain offices in COFCU’s Chicago Avenue, Groton and Long Hill Road, Groton branches.
According to Charter Oak CEO Brian Orenstein, partnering with SBI will prove beneficial to Credit Union members. “SBI is a family-owned business that matches our credit union philosophy. Membership in Charter Oak continues to provide consumers with a wide variety of products and services, all of which save them time and money. We are proud to be able to extend these services to all consumers who live or work in New London and Windham Counties.”
