Financial Literacy
Charter Oak also gives back to the community by promoting financial education and awareness. Our two high school branches (located at Killingly High School in Dayville and Robert E. Fitch Senior High School in Groton) employ students interested in careers in financial service and encourage students to start saving for the future. We also visit other area high schools and organizations within our field of membership to make presentations on budgeting, saving and more.
Interested in hosting a financial literacy presentation at your organization or school? Simply contact Charter Oak’s Community Relations Coordinator Kimberly Bartlett at 860-446-3254!

Involvement
For over 70 years, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has dedicated itself to helping make New London and Windham counties better places to live and work. From opening day ceremonies at your local baseball field, to festivals, charitable walks and yard cleanups; our employees regularly attend events and volunteer their time in order give back to various local organizations. We look forward to meeting our members and potential members in relaxed, informal settings.

Outreach
Each Friday, many of Charter Oak’s employees pay a fee to dress casually in support of individuals, families and community groups in need of emergency funding. Donating thousands of dollars each year, Community Outreach funds have helped families fill their oil tanks in the winter, paid for school supplies for needy children or supported homeless shelters in need of immediate assistance.
Should you or an organization be experiencing financial difficulty, please submit your written request detailing your hardship to:
Community Outreach Committee
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union
32 Chicago Avenue
Groton, CT 06340
All applicants will be notified in writing of the Community Outreach Committee’s decision. All requests remain confidential.
Partnership Program
Charter Oak is also committed to supporting a variety of programs, events and community groups that may not fall under the 501 (c) (3) categories. We look forward to partnering with the community not only to improve the quality of life for its residents, but to also provide Charter Oak with the opportunity to meet potential members throughout New London and Windham counties.
