Members of the Safety Net Team Pose with Just Some of
the Many Donated Backpacks at their Norwich Office!
It’s Back to School Time!
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union employees recently donated over 50 backpacks stuffed with school supplies for local children in need! Just in time for the Back to School season, the donation also included hundreds of Charter Oak calculators, rulers and pencils!
Known as the second most costly season for parents behind the winter holidays, Back to School time brings financial stress to many struggling families.
This year’s supply of backpacks was donated to Norwich Human Services’ Safety Net Team, which provides a safety net for people in the Norwich community who are in need. Working together to help improve quality of life for those receiving help, while promoting community partnerships, the Safety Net Team consists of city human services staff, representatives of the faith community and area health and human service agencies. For more information on all that this organization does, or to donate a backpack, please call 860-823-3778.
