Charter Oak Employees Donate 45 Backpacks to Area School Children
For the past three years, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union employees have collected backpacks for area school children in need. Filled with useful supplies such as crayons, notebooks and pencils, the 45 backpacks donated this year were donated in order to help ease the financial burden experienced by struggling families during the back to school season.
Since 2007, Charter Oak employees have collected over 300 backpacks for children in New London and Windham counties. Schools benefiting from this year's collection included several in New London, as well as Killingly Central School in Killingly.
