Credit Union Will Also Offer Shredding Services and
Re-Usable Grocery Bags for Environmental Event
Groton, CT-April 14, 2009-Charter Oak Federal Credit Union will sponsor Mitchell College's Environmental Stories: An Earth Day Celebration, taking place on Wednesday, April 22nd at the College's New London campus. Highlighting the significance of habitat restoration, the event will feature art exhibits, guided tours of the Mitchell Beach Restoration Project, a Community Expo, book sales and signings, and a panel discussion featuring speakers from the U.S. Coast Guard Research and Development Center.
Joined by over two dozen community groups, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union will be on hand in Mitchell's Clarke Auditorium, promoting participation in Governor M. Jodi Rell's Student Loan Program, as well as distributing re-usable grocery bags bearing the Credit Union's new logo. Encouraging those attending the event to reduce, reuse and recycle, the Credit Union will also provide free Shred-It services in the College's Mitchell Beach parking lot. Visitors are encouraged to bring their sensitive or personal papers to be shredded and recycled anytime from Noon until 2:00pm.
