Community Giving Program Supported 143 Organizations in 2009
Groton, CT-December 21, 2010-In 2009, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union's Community Giving Program provided funding to 143 organizations located throughout New London and Windham counties. Consisting of sponsorships, grants and scholarships, the Program supports initiatives ranging from little league teams and cultural programs -to community events and homeless shelters. A complete list of 2009 recipients has been posted to the Credit Union's website.
Committed to giving back to those who live or work in New London and Windham Counties, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union will continue its charitable efforts in 2010. Organizations interested in applying for funding can do so at any time by submitting an application. Requests over $5,000 are reviewed quarterly. Charter Oak Federal Credit Union is a cooperative financial institution owned by its members. Membership is open to persons who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in, and businesses and other legal entities located in New London County and Windham County, CT.
