Groton, CT - April 23, 2009 - Joined by over two dozen community groups, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union participated in Mitchell College's third-annual Earth Day Celebration on Wednesday, April 22nd. Featuring environmental-themed activities from presentations by the Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Coast Guard - to guided tours and art exhibits; the festivities highlighted the importance of habitat restoration and the College's efforts to restore Mitchell Beach.
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union representatives were on hand to provide attendees with reusable grocery bags, free shredding services, as well as information about the student loans Charter Oak has available through Governor M. Jodi Rell's CT Student Loan Program. A proud sponsor of this event, Charter Oak is dedicated to partnering with local community groups and institutions in order to help improve the quality of life of those living or working in New London or Windham counties.
