Charter Oak awards student
members with scholarships
At the 70th Annual Meeting, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union awarded Community Scholarships to student-members who excelled academically while giving back to their communities through extracurricular involvement and community service. Before a group of over 200 attendees, Scholarship winners were introduced and presented with $2,000 towards their pursuit of higher education, as well as a certificate of appreciation for their inspiring efforts.
Hailing from various towns across New London and Windham counties, winners were Ashley West of Dayville, Jessica Wilson, Kaitlin Cedio and Kelcie Uhler of Groton, Joseph Massad of Oakdale, Ishita Kala from Waterford and Kayla Murphy of Pawcatuck. Winning students will be attending a variety of higher education institutions, from Three Rivers Community College, UCONN and Eastern CT State University, to Tufts University and the University of Notre Dame.
