CHARTER OAK ANNOUNCES 2010 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
Seven Area Students Will Receive $2,000 Scholarships
Groton, CT-May 5, 2010 - Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has named the 7 winners of its annual Community Scholarship Program. Rewarding student members who excel academically and are active in their communities through extracurricular activities or community service, each winner will receive $2,000 towards their pursuit of higher education.
Hailing from various towns across New London and Windham counties, winners were Alexandra Conklin of North Stonington, Ashley West of Dayville, Brittany Bissonnette of Danielson, Kelsey Woodworth of Pawcatuck, Michon Dinwoodie and Scott Ferrigno of Westerly, R.I., as well as Yang Xu of Montville. Winning students will be attending a variety of higher education institutions, including Hofstra University, James Madison University, Kings College, Liberty University, University of Connecticut, University of Rhode Island and Southern Connecticut State University.
