CHARTER OAK AND FITCH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS RAISE $2,467.69 FOR HAITI RELIEF

Groton, CT-February 25, 2010-Charter Oak Federal Credit Union and students from Groton's Robert E. Fitch High School partnered to raise $2,467.69 in support of the American Red Cross's Haiti relief efforts. Collecting spare change since the quake, students raised $509, which was added to a $500 donation made by Charter Oak's Community Giving Program.

Further supplementing student fundraising efforts, the Credit Union also collected member donations in each of its branches, which are located throughout New London and Windham counties. Raising $1,458.69, Charter Oak was able to provide Fitch students with a surprise addition to their final count.
