Boot Drive a Perfect Fit for Charter Oak Employees
Charter Oak Dayville and Niantic Employees Collect 74 Pairs of Boots for Local Charity
Groton, CT-December 10, 2008-Employees from Charter Oak's Dayville and Niantic branches kicked their generosity into high gear when asked to take part in the Santa Anonymous Winter Boot Project sponsored by TVCCA and RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program). The Boot Project, which collects hundreds of pairs of boots annually for low-income children in Eastern Connecticut, asked Charter Oak employees for help in collecting and wrapping boots. Judging from the results, the Boot Project was a perfect fit for the Groton-based credit union.
Originally expecting to donate 30 pairs of boots on behalf of the Dayville and Niantic branches, Managers Sonya Credit and Sundae Franklin had quickly surpassed their donation goals, with members and employees donating 74 pairs of boots. Overjoyed by how popular the Boot Project was among their members and staff, Credit and Franklin plan to hold the collection again next year.
